The Psychedelic Art of Wes Wilson

Wes Wilson is known for his distinctive gig posters for the likes of Jefferson Airplane and The Doors. A lot of these were commissioned by Bill Graham, an influential promoter who got his big break promoting concerts at the legendary Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco.

On Wilson’s website, there is an extensive showcase of his work, some of which is still for sale. It’s interesting to see the lesser known flyers and playbills, and I love the rougher watercolours and sketches, such as the ones shown below.
