These ethereal, delicate flowers were created by Dutch artist Nienke Sybrandy. Pickled in formaldehyde, the structure of the flower remains, but the pigment is destroyed leaving an almost ghostly impression.
Both taken from Nick Knight‘s series “Flora”, these pressed plants are gorgeously vibrant. Structurally, they are very similar to Sybrandy’s preserved flowers, but the contrast make Knight’s compositions incredibly striking.
